Mobile Robot Emotion Expression with Motion based on MACE-GRACE Model
Abstract
MACE-GRACE is a model for enabling robots to act as if they had emotions. The model describes the analysis of sensor measurements through complex mechanisms taking into account a large panel of human characteristics borrowed from psychological studies. This paper describes specifically the body component of the model, which is in charge of providing the robot with adequate movements to express the intended emotions (Happiness, Sadness, Anger and Serenity). Results obtained from our experiments show that the robot's body movements expressed quite well the intended emotions.
